The University of Nicosia (UNIC) is the largest university in Cyprus, with more than 11,000 students from over 70 countries around the world, coming together in an innovative and transformative learning space.
Located in Nicosia, the country's capital, and present in 18 other cities around the world, we are driven by our pursuit of excellence in teaching and learning, innovation, research, technology and a constantly changing university environment.
We empower our students and give them the confidence to make an impact in the world.
Many of our programs and departments were the first of their kind in Cyprus. Over time, several programs such as medicine, international relations, accounting, law and architecture have become some of the most renowned in Cyprus and the region. Today, UNIC's new programs focus on cutting-edge research, making us world leaders in certain areas, such as our very successful initiative in the field of digital currency/block chain technology.
Internationalization is a central element of UNIC's strategy. This includes partnerships for degree programmes, student mobility and post-graduation opportunities in academia and industry to share knowledge and capacity between countries. The first and largest medical programme in Cyprus was set up in collaboration with St George's of the University of London.
Today, the Medical School attracts more than 500 students from all over the world. In Greece, we offer several joint masters degrees with the best Greek universities: Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, University of Patras and the Greek Open University. These are some of the most popular programs in Greece. We intend to actively pursue our partnerships with leading universities around the world, both in the academic and research fields.
